The story behind ILAI

I’ve spent my career connecting complex systems. I wanted my health record to work the same way.

The problem I kept meeting

I built ILAI for people who take an active role in their health, and for the practices that help them make decisions over time. In ongoing care, most of what matters happens between appointments: a dose changes, appetite shifts, training slips, a symptom appears. Connecting the clinical record with everyday life still takes work. ILAI does that work.

As I followed my own labs, training, nutrition and sleep, I kept meeting a problem I knew from work. The information existed, in separate places. To see what had changed, what else was happening at the time, and what was worth raising with my clinician, I had to assemble the picture by hand.

What engineering made possible

I ran sales engineering for a technology company and helped grow it from startup through its acquisition. That work taught me how much depends on connecting information and making it useful to the person making the decision.

Biology has been a passion for as long as engineering has been a profession. I’ve always wanted to understand how complex systems work, and my own health gave that curiosity a practical subject.

Three things made it practical to do better. Wearables record activity and recovery every day. Lab reports arrive as digital records that can hold years of history. And AI lets a person ask that record a question in ordinary words. The engineering was in bringing them together carefully: preserving dates and sources, making every calculation checkable, and keeping missing information visible. I began with my own record. That became ILAI.

Why I use ILAI myself

GLP-1 care makes the opportunity especially clear. As treatment changes someone’s appetite and weight, nutrition, strength, activity, recovery and symptoms all deserve attention. ILAI brings that daily experience together with treatment history and clinical follow-up, helping the patient and care team understand what is changing over time.

For me, longevity means staying capable, curious and engaged, with the energy and freedom to keep doing the things that matter.

Here’s to understanding more, and making more of the years ahead.

Why “ILAI”

ILAI (said ee-LYE) stands for Integrated Longevity AI. Integrated, because labs, doses, wearables, meals and symptoms are analyzed as one record. Longevity, because the point is more healthy years. “Intelligence for life” is the promise, not the acronym.

Built from a personal need. Ready for your own questions.
